Clava Cairns-click pictures to enlarge, entire blog starting with most recent by clicking 2011 in archives on the right

After the battlefield we stopped to see the Clava Cairns.
There are four cairns, each encircled by standing stones.

I kept expecting fairies to jump out at us.
It was mysterious and haunting. I'm trying to think of adjectives to describe it, but it is impossible.
For those fans of the Outlander series, you will understand. Jo Ellen looked between the stones.


 Fell between them.
Now she is with Jamie in 1745.

    When I talked to Joey, she said this place was magical. Now I can see why. Aren't you glad you checked it out?
