Here is the video of Inisheer, played on the Island of Inis Oirr, Aron Islands. I filmed in several locations, and added some pictures that we took from around the island.
While we were waiting for the ferry from Doolin out to the Island, I broke out the harp for a little busking, and made enough to buy us a nice dinner when we arrived. Ferry ports are great places to play for tips, as people have some time to kill, and are on vacation with money to spend. Busking in Europe is much different than in America, where we are often looked as as panhandlers. Here people listen, and if they like it (or take a picture or video) they usually tip.

Arriving on the Island
Say this five times as fast as you can:
We were met at the ferry port by our hosts Maria and Enda, who took us do different amazing places around the island to pick spots for the video. Maria is a genealogist and Enda's family dates back on the Island to the 17th century, so they were a treasure of stories and info. We filmed at the monument for those lost to the sea, at the holy well, and at an 8th century church. Here are a bunch of pictures:
The the stone age fortresses surrounding the castle date back thousands of years.
I did get out to one of the the local pubs to play a little trad session music. The bodhran festival was happening while we were there. 100 bodhran players running rampant on the island. In the pub it was me, a fiddler, a banjo, and at least a dozen bodhrans-yikes!
After one night in Inisheer, it is off to Dingle and Kerry. See you soon!
